When it comes to flea control, why not choose a product that kills even more fleas? Beaphar FIPROtec® COMBO kills adult fleas, and prevents flea eggs and flea larvae from developing, so you can stop a flea infestation in its tracks. Best of all, it is easily accessible for all pet-owners, as it is available over the counter in pet shops and online, with no need for a prescription.

How does Beaphar FIPROtec® COMBO work?

Beaphar FIPROtec® COMBO is a vet strength spot-on medicine that is ideal for busy families. It protects both your home and your pet – allowing you to get the job done in one simple application.
Beaphar FIPROtec® COMBO contains Fipronil and S-methoprene. Fipronil is an insecticide that kills the adult fleas. S-methoprene is an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR), which prevents flea eggs and flea larvae from developing.
While Fipronil works on your pet, killing the adult fleas, the S-methoprene works both on your pet and in your home. As your treated pet moves around the home they shed skin cells and hair coated in S-methoprene. So, flea eggs or larvae that have not already come into contact with the S-methoprene on your pet will be exposed to it in the environment.

95% of a flea infestation, which is made up of eggs, larvae and pupae, is in the environment. Using a combination flea control product like Beaphar FIPROtec® COMBO allows you to target multiple life stages, both on your pet and in your home, and prevent a full-blown flea infestation from occurring.

Can I use Beaphar FIPROtec® COMBO to fight an activeflea infestation?

While Beaphar FIPROtec® COMBO will gradually build up the level of protection in your home, it would take months for your pet to shed enough S-methoprene coated cells to completely eradicate the fleas in your home.

Using a household flea spray, such as Beaphar FLEAtec, in conjunction with your on-animal flea treatment will allow you to solve your flea problem much more quickly. Beaphar FLEAtec also contains both an insecticide and an IGR.

Alongside treating both your home and your pet, you should also vacuum regularly and wash all bedding on the hottest wash possible. This will help destroy eggs and encourage flea pupae to hatch into adult fleas. Fleas are protected from all forms of treatment while in their pupal cocoon, so you need them to hatch into adults so then cay be killed by the insecticide from the household flea spray.

What else can I do to protect my pet and home from fleas?

To ensure your pet is protected from fleas, you must make sure you follow a regular flea control routine. Whether that is the use of a combination on-animal flea control product, or an on-animal flea control product and a household flea spray, you MUST make sure you stick to it.

Any gap in treatment provides fleas with an opportunity to complete their lifecycle, which is when you’re at risk of a flea infestation.

Another key thing to remember is that fleas often carry a type of tapeworm. Alongside protecting your pet from fleas, you need to worm regularly. Adult cats and dogs should be wormed once everythree months to keep them worm-free. Younger pets will need worming more regularly.

Beaphar WORMclear® is a vet strength wormer for cats and dogs which is also available over the counter in pet shops and online. The tablets kill roundworms and tapeworms in once simple dose, and the delicious, meaty flavour means most cats and dogs will take them willingly.
